Gothia Adventure Finishes

After a fantastic week of making new friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime and playing some great football, our Gothia Cup adventure has to come to an end for 2019.

In terms of actual results, we played four, won one, drew one and lost two.

We beat Tranås FF from Sweden in the 1st game 3-1 with Tiahna Atkins getting a hattrick.

In the 2nd match we lost 3-1 to Scandia United SA from America, with Eve Morecroft scoring our goal.

In the final group game we played Skövde KIK from Sweden and drew 0-0, meaning we finished 3rd on goal difference and this put us into the B group playoffs and into the quarter final.

There we played the 3rd place team from group 7, RÅs LB from Sweden.

The game finished 1-1 at full time with Grace Monteiro equalising in the final 5 minutes and we then went to penalties, where we unfortunately lost.

Tiahna, Lidia Jones and Caitlin McKirdy were our scorers in the shoot out.

As well as the football, the team was also part of the opening ceremony as they carried the Australian flag into the arena in front of 50 000 spectators.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of SWEA Perth, Candy People Australia, Bars&More and Search Smart.

This has been an amazing month so far for the club, as we've also seen Annaleisha Pickering play for the State U15's in Coffs Harbour, our U16's win a tournament in Australind and next week Grace Monteiro and Alix Davies will play for the State U17's in the NTC challenge in Canberra.

This weekend our Prems have a chance to improve their championship prospects when they play Queens Park in a crunch game at the top of the table, and next weekend all of our junior teams will be looking to progress into the semi finals of their cups.

The future is looking bright for the club!
