The 2019 season has started and many of our teams marked it with a win.
The Prems scored a 2-1 win against Balcatta. Goals from Perth Glory W league star Sarah Carroll and ex-New Zealand international Renee Leota sealed a come from behind win after we went 1-0 down against a strong Balcatta side. Our U23's then followed up with a 2-0 win against Balcatta.
Our State League Division 1 side played what was probably the most exciting game of the day when they narrowly lost 6-5 to Joondalup. A great second half comeback was not quite enough to secure the points, but Lidia Jones can be rightly proud of her performance, scoring 4 of our 5 goals.
The State League Division 2 side were frustrated by the opposition forfeiting the game, but some players were able to turn out for other teams, and 2 of them (Courtney Opie and Jordyne Dale) turned out for the U18's against Hamersley. With a number of players suffering injuries, their contribution was vital as the team ran out 3-1 winners, with Evie Wise scoring a hattrick for us.
The U16's opened their season with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Balcatta, and our U14's were held to a 0-0 draw by Murdoch University - Melville.
A great start to the season and congratulations to all the players, coaches, managers and supporters for making it such a successful day.
